"Never eat breakfast. It's a stupid meal."
      "Never go above 14th Street."
      "Tell everyone they're your favorite."
These are but a few of the popisms that made Lazlo a Superstar of the Art World. He's started a little Factory of his own. He's brought up a handful of Starbabies. Together, they make art films. They invent their own biographies. They paint cows blue. They organize expeditions. They quote Oscar Wilde. And now! Lazlo needs a follower to step up. To undergo a supreme test of faith. A young woman rises to the occasion. And gets burned at the stake. On film. ... Uh. ... Hm.
As the last full production of our last full season, Cherry Red proudly presented the world premiere production of Cinema Verité, from Wendy MacLeod, the author of Schoolgirl Figure, a.k.a., the biggest hit in Cherry Red History, and The House of Yes, which became the cult flick starring Parker Posey and Tori Spelling.
Smart, short, and silly, Cinema Verité took on the world of arty art and the arty artists who make it. Cherry Red regular Jennifer Ambrosino, who's worked on Day-Old Plays, Seven Deadly Dwarves, and last year's hit Coyote Woman, directed. She even wore a beret. Cast featured Kate Debelack, John Horn, Marcus Lawrence, and Brent Lowder.
