Digital City "Justin Tanner's script delivers just enough plot and character development to string the zingers together: Asks our lupine protagonist (Lucrezia Blozia): 'Doesn't it make you want to hump your zipper and howl?' Yes. Yes, it does." City Paper | | | "A wildly funny, contemporary interpretation of the werewolf flick! Cherry Red Productions has another hit on its hands!" Wash. Blade "Flying body parts! Lewdness, nipples and four-letter words!" Georgetowner "When was the last time you heard someone use the word 'queef'?! It's all too outrageous, too wonderful!" GW Hatchet "A total scream! Hysterically funny! Easily ranks as one of Cherry Red's most accomplished efforts!" Metro Weekly | | January 22-March 15, 2003 Warehouse Next Door 1017 Seventh St., NW
Janet's life is so awesome! What more could a girl want than a man with a killer smile, a steady job as an animal control officer, and a dead mother who willed him her Toyota? If only her stick-in-the-mud roomie Debbie and Debbie's gay brother Mike would lay off. Janet's just a little too goodie-two-shoes for their taste. But Janet's got a wild side that's about to claw its way through. With Coyote Woman, Cherry Red returned to the "oh-so-L.A." world of playwright Justin Tanner (co-author of our 1999 hit, Zombie Attack!) -- where the coyotes and yuppies roam free. Jennifer Ambrosino, whose talents were previously lent to Cherry Red's Seven Deadly Dwarves (The Most Foul Tradgedy of Nico and Narcotic) and both rounds of Day-Old Plays (Temptation Island, Assholes in America) directed. In addition to being Cherry Red's Pass Master, she is also the former artistic director of The Theatre Conspiracy. The cast featured Stephanie Jane Burden, Melissa-Leigh Douglass, Dana Edwards, Tony Greenberg, Monique LaForce, Joe Pindelski, Richard Price, Jacky Reres, and Lucrezia Blozia as The Coyote Woman.
