"Exquisitely rude and raunchy! Might send you into convulsions of either laughter or gagging, or both!" --Washington Post

Dec. 14, 2001-Feb 3, 2002
at Metro Cafe

Things are getting a little lonely for Baron Khanazar von Bluebeard. His failed attempts at creating a third and perfect gender have made him a laughing stock. ("Even in Denmark they call him a quack!"). But now, banished to the Island of Lost Love, Bluebeard awaits the arrival of the good ship Lady Vain. Its cargo? The Baron's next innocent victim. . . . er, that is, his beloved niece.

First performed by Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company in 1970, Bluebeardwas the fledgling company's first cult success, mixing class and crass, grand and gaudy, horror and ha-ha, beautiful and just plain tacky.

Rick Fiori, who last directed Zombie Attack!for Cherry Red, returned to Metro Cafe and the realm of blood-curdling, toe-curling horror with this production.

Featuring B. Stanley (Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack's Dan Citizen) as Khanazar von Bluebeard, the cast includes Shannon Dunne (Sybil), Sarah Melinda (Miss Flora Cubbidge), John Horn (Rodney), Paul Menard (Lamia "The Leopard Woman"), Glee Murray (Mrs. Maggot), and Nader Tavangar (Sheemish).
